1. Application Process
Create an account or log in to the Online Permit Center.
Fill out the application completely and attach required plans.
Click Submit — if you don’t, it will not be received by staff.
Plans must comply with 2021 International Building Codes and 2020 National Electric Code.
2. Review Timeline
Plan review: 2–3 weeks (longer if additional info is required).
3. Approval & Payment
Once approved, you’ll get an email from SmartGov with a permit invoice link.
Pay invoice → permit issued → print and post on-site.
No inspections can be scheduled until fees are paid and the permit is issued.
4. Occupancy Inspections
Application and fee must be submitted before inspection can be scheduled.
5. Scheduling Inspections
Call 636-390-1010 (building) or 636-390-1030 (water/sewer).
Call by 3 PM the business day before the desired inspection date.
No online scheduling is available.

No processing or inspections on:
New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
